Look Like A Bond Girl

Look Like A Bond Girl

Bond movies are sure to bring out your inner Bond Girl—and so is this list of makeup and style tips, which take their cues from Olga Kurylenk, the latest actress to join the 007 elite. In order to get a leading man’s attention in real life, you don’t necessarily need to be more beautiful or more buxom than the next woman; it’s really a matter of emphasizing these dangerously sexy assets. Try on Bond girl makeup in our virtual makeup studio.

Dangerously Sexy Bond Girl Hair

http://www.cinemaretro.com/uploads/carolinegoldensinbad.jpg

To achieve the quintessential Bond Girl look—whether your hair is short or long—add a set of extra-large Velcro rollers to your beauty arsenal. They add just the right amount of body and bounce if you leave them in for 15 minutes. Hit each ribbon of hair with a blast of hot air, followed by a shot of cold air, for ultimate shine. An ionic blowdryer will seal the cuticle shut so the hair looks even glossier. After removing the curlers, shake your hair upside down and throw it back, letting it fall over one eye in flirty, peek-a-boo fashion. If you have fine strands, back comb them at the root for extra volume. Tote hairspray in your bag and spritz it on your hands, not directly on the hair, to maintain luscious locks all night.

Dangerously Lush Bond Girl Eyelashes

To achieve look-at-moi fringe à la Olga Kurylenko, Quantum Solace's latest Bond Girl, apply a few individual lashes at the outer corner of each eye. Don’t be afraid to reuse them: Gently pull them off, lay them down on their plastic packaging—a supermarket club card also works—and swab them with a Q-tip doused in eye makeup remover. A temporary tint is a great option for occasions when you know you’ll be waking up next to him. The quickie treatment last two to three days and is ideal for fair haired gals who crave stay-put definition.

Dangerously Kissable Bond Girl Lips

What would James Bond's female co-star be without a pink, pillowy pout? Bond Girls keep their kissers moist with a hydrating balm and they avoid cigarettes, known to cause creases around the mouth. Make lipstick and liner last by first applying foundation and translucent powder to bare lips, and create definition by drawing just outside the lines with a flesh-toned concealer pencil. A dab of gloss placed on the center of the lower lip offers a dewy, delectable finish. In fact, a chocolate flavored gloss will make your kisses even more irresistible.

Dangerously Sexy Bond Girl Stilettos

http://images.ctv.ca/gallery/photo/top8_perform09_1/image7.jpg

Think of stilettos (Latin for “slender daggers”) as stealth weapons of mass seduction— they make your legs appear longer, thrust the hips forward and put the swing in your backyard. Bonus points: They work your core muscles to make you stand up straighter, so you command attention in any crowd (the best spies never go unnoticed). It’s easier to strut your stuff when you’re not hobbled with discomfort, so tailor the inside of the shoe like you would a suit. Dr. Scholl’s For Her gel insoles are handy little inventions that cushion your tootsies—very smart for big dates that require prolonged periods of standing or dancing.

Dangeroulsy Come-Hither Bond Girl Clothes

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_ZP1S6Myct3U/Scmg1ssDA5I/AAAAAAAAA0M/mEFR4DjKYeQ/kim%5B2%5D.jpg

When you want to arouse a man’s interest, choose the color of your clothing strategically. Tomato red is magnetic: Just looking at it causes the body to release the hormone epinephrine, so he unconsciously finds himself in a state of excitement. Teal or pink are actually turn-offs—and the combination of the two tends to cheapen a woman’s look (and Bond Girls never look cheap). Reach for rouge, or even coral, when you want to stand out in a sea of little black dresses, and invest in luxe, touchable materials. A soft cashmere wrap or sweater begs to be caressed, and a silk blouse has an ultrasensuous liquid texture that’s at once tempting and tasteful. --Stephanie Simons

The Look of a Pin Up Girl

The Look of a Pin Up Girl

Look back at Hollywood's heyday and you'll find a number of women whose bathing suit-clad posters kept soldiers company during World War II and beyond. The typical pin-up girl could be blonde or brunette, hair color is not as important as style. These ladies almost always had a pretty face and a voluptuous figure, for example:

  • Betty Grable

  • Betty Page

  • Rita Hayworth

  • Hedy Lamarr

  • Ava Gardner

The bullet bras so popular during that era helped make the most of a pin up's figure, but her fresh faced beauty is part of what captivated soldiers, magazine readers and movie audiences.

How to Do Pin Up Girl Makeup

You don't have to love everything retro to appreciate a pin up girl look from time to time. Try these tips the next time you want to be the sexy girl-next-door:

  • Begin with a smooth canvas: Use foundation to even out your complexion and follow up with a dusting of loose powder. Although heavy foundation was in vogue at the time, modern options are much lighter and beneficial to your skin.

  • Eye-catching brows: Brush your eyebrows into place and color in any sparse areas with eyebrow pencil. Pin up girls usually had dark, dramatic brows, no matter the color of their hair. Also, don't forget that high arch. This may require tweezing or waxing to get rid of any stray hairs.

  • Eye makeup: This is not the time to create a smoky eye; instead, your eye makeup should be light, with the exception of eyeliner. Sweep a natural colored eye shadow all over your lids, using a slightly darker color in the crease to create some depth if desired. Apply liquid or gel black eyeliner in a thin line on your upper lids, extending the line just past the outer corners. Add a few coats of black mascara to curled lashes, or go for the full glam look with fake lashes.

  • Light blush: Use a blush brush to apply sweeping pink or peach color to your cheeks.

  • Lips to die for: No pin up girl would be seen without her bright red lipstick, so choose a rich red shade that works well with your complexion. Line your lips with a red lip liner and then fill in with the red lipstick of your choice. Your lip color shouldn't be too glossy, but have a slight shine to it.

  • Options: Add a dark beauty mole high on one cheek or on one side of your chin. If you want to get into full pin up girl mode, fashion your hair into a 1940s-era style, either with full, thick bangs and a slight curve at the ends of shoulder length hair or with lots of loose curls and a big flower pinned onto one side.

Update the Look

Maybe you're into vintage and rockabilly—if so; your pin up look will fit right in. However, you don't have to shop at vintage stores and look for fashions from the 50s all the time to want to try pin up makeup. This is a fun look for nighttime and even one that works in the day; just skip the false eyelashes for the office. It's a makeup look that's sultry and innocent at the same time, allowing you to be the typical girl-next-door who's also full of va-va-voom!

Prom Girl Dresess

Prom Girl photo
Prom Girl image
Prom Girl smile
Prom Girl new fashion
Prom Girl pic

Prom Girls fashion pictu
Let me start by saying I don’t understand the excess planning and spending that goes into prom. Maybe that’s because at my rural high school, our prom was held in the school cafeteria, and no one ever took a limo there. There was no dinner, no red-carpet entrance that parents line up to photograph. Nothing.

So maybe that’s why I don’ t understand the preparations that go into the event (not even mentioning the I don’t understand why some parents are willing to spend so much on an event that really will have little significance to the rest of the child’s life.

I get that when you’re a teen, it IS the biggest event in your world, but parents have helped create that kind of feeling when they line up at the prom entrance with cameras like their child is walking into the Academy Awards. How would you like to be the kid that couldn’t afford a “good” dress, but you’re still on parade? It’s needless pressure to keep up.

Straight Guys Care Too

Straight Guys Care Too
Whether you consider this is in or out, think twice about your outfit because there are guys with strong strong opinions!

Whether you consider this is in or out, think twice about your outfit because there are guys with strong strong opinions!

As a classmate and I try to concentrate in calculus for our last finals, we can’t help but get distracted by these girls in our class that dress – well let’s just say not so pleasant to the eyes. One of our recent text convos looked like this:

Friend: What the hell is that dumb girl wearing? ???
Me: You look at her way too much. Just ignore her.
Friend: She’s in my line to the board… It pains me it’s like one of those things that is so gross you can’t turn away. You just go DAMN what happened?
Me: haha I know how you feel.
Friend: That girl is so trashy! Black bra that you can see. c’mon seriously.

After you’ve read this conversation it sounds like two normal college girls squabbling over some other girl in class. Well, no. It ends up that this friend of mine is actually a guy and no he’s not gay or into fashion and art. Just your typically college boy that wants to get passed tests and finals.

“High heels, ripped jeans, brown belt, see through shirt with the black bra, and the zebra print bag – none of those matched each other!” exclaimed my friend as we were walking out of class. Sighing he adds, “That girl has no fashion sense whatsoever.”

This whole remark made me laugh, but later it got me thinking, do guys really notice that much? This friend of mind never appealed to me as the type that criticizes a girl’s fashion, so I was utterly surprised later when I looked back at the conversation. So I guess straight guys do care more or less about how we dress. Never did I think that, in a town where I live in, I would meet a guy with such a strong opinion about clothes. It gives me all the more reason to think twice about what I wear before I leave the house. haha :)
